Welcome to my author website. I write the Eye Spy series of children’s detective stories, which combine Enid Blyton-style mysteries with the sort of family issues middle grade readers can empathise with. The books feature twin sleuths, Alex and Donna Macintyre, and their detective service, Eye Spy Investigations, and are set in a seaside town. All the books are fast-paced and action-packed, and designed to entice both reluctant readers and avid bookworms. Parents often enjoy them as well! The second book in the series, Haunted, was a finalist in the Wishing Shelf Book Awards in 2018.

I live near Southend-on-Sea in Essex, with my husband, Gwyn, and a large white cat called Pippa. I love living by the sea, which is one of the reasons I set the Eye Spy series in an imaginary seaside town, Holcombe Bay. I have my own study, where I can sit and write whilst looking out at our peaceful garden, with just Pippa for company.

I thoroughly enjoyed this contemporary adventure story. It combines a mystery tale – where is Kiki, the missing dog? – with a family drama of secrets and lies. The mystery thread has a touch of the Enid Blyton about it, with a brother and sister pluckily investigating what they perceive to be a crime. And the family drama is much more contemporary, inhabiting an emotional landscape that children of today will all recognise.
